Camila Cabello Says She And Boyfriend Shawn Mendes Had Drifted Apart Before Collabing On Senorita

Before they became so happy and in love, there was not much between them at all for a while! Fans know that Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello had been friends for years and used to lean on one another while dealing with the music industry and fame.

But, Camila claims they had drifted apart before their Senorita collab!

Working together on the song seems to be what brought them together again and ultimately caused them to fall in love.

While at Elle’s Women in Music event during Fashion Week, the singer chatted with E! News, telling the news outlet that it took them about eight months to even decide if they were going to do the track or not.

Eventually, they recorded the song and shortly after shot the PDA filled music video as well. The rest is history!

She went on to explain that it was also how they found each other again after some time apart: ‘I love him with all my heart and always have. We’ve known each other for a really long time… We’ve always been there for each other. I think we drifted because we weren’t hanging out as much. It was fun to be able to reconnect and hang out again.’

Camila then opened up about love, saying that ‘it’s the ultimate artistic inspiration because it opens you up. Falling in love, for me, just brings out all of my vulnerabilities. All these things show up for me and it just makes you open. When I am in love I listen to songs and I just cry. I cry easier. That must mean that I’m more open and more in touch with my emotions. All the spectrum of emotions… joy, fear, all of it.’
