One of The Bachelor’s most successful couples – Matthew ‘Matty J’ David Johnson and Laura Byrne – have tied the knot after finding love on reality television and having two daughters together.
The couple declared their love in front of family and friends on Friday at the Cupitt’s Estate near Mollymook on the New South Wales South Coast.
During their nuptials, Matty J sealed the deal with cheeky wedding vows. He spoke about how he wanted an ambitious woman with a wicked sense of humour and a “great rack”.
“When I first saw you I thought, ‘Holy s**t, there she is’,” he said, in a video obtained by Daily Mail Australia.
“I was determined to get your pregnant as soon as possible and, as luck would have it, you felt the same way.
“The only issue was there was a reality TV show in the way and 24 women I had to work my way through at the same time.”
Laura, who owns the jewellery brand Toni May, also spoke about their time on The Bachelor, saying she knew Matty was her person but it was a “shame” he had to date 23 other women to come to the same conclusion.
She went on to say an incredibly romantic speech, with Matty joking it was “lame”, before Laura promised to kiss him every night and “a little more” if she wasn’t too tired.
The couple’s two little girls – Marlie Mae and Lola – were also in attendance at the wedding, with the new husband and wife holding them every chance they got.
Laura wore a dress from KYHA Studios, which featured one shoulder with a sheer bodice, while Matty wore a classic suit from MJ Bale.
The couple danced into the night, taking pictures among the vineyard, as well as having a champagne tower.
Laura’s Life Uncut podcast, which is one of Australia’s most popular podcasts, with a radio show and book attached to it, co-host Brittany Hockley was also in attendance.
In an Instagram update on Saturday, Laura revealed the couple’s rings were from her own jewellery brand.
“We may not look how we did yesterday,” she said, as she cuddled in bed with her new husband five years after falling in love for all of Australia to see.
“But we bloody did it! And I sound like a 40-year-old man because I lost my voice screaming song lyrics all night.”
She also called the beautiful ceremony filled with laughter and love the “happiest day” of their lives.
Dozens of others rushed to wish the couple warm wishes, including Emma Carey, Zam McDonald and Osher Gunsberg – who stood by the couple’s side as they fell in love.
