Sadie Laflamme-Snow Shares the Questions She Wants Answered in Season Two of The Way Home (Exc

It’s been a few weeks since the SHOCKING season one finale of Hallmark‘s The Way Home and tbh, we’re still not over it.

If you have no idea what we’re talking about, here’s little catch up sesh for you. The Way Home follows Kat Landry (played by Chyler Leigh), her 15-year-old daughter Alice (played by Sadie Laflamme-Snow) and Kat’s mother Del (played by Andie MacDowell) who are all strong, willful and independent. More than 20 years prior, lifechanging events prompted Kat to move away from her small, Canadian farm town of Port Haven and she and Del have been estranged ever since. Alice has never met her grandmother and is unaware of the reasons for their fractured family.

But with Kat’s marriage coming to an end and having just been laid off from her job, she decides to return home after receiving an unexpected letter from Del urging her to come back. Although Alice is none-too-thrilled, Kat and her daughter arrive at her family’s farm. Kat is disappointed that she doesn’t receive a warmer reception from Del and it’s clear that there are wounds that need to heal.

Wanting to escape the tension, Alice explores the property and finds herself on a surprising, time-traveling journey to learn important lessons about their family’s past.

“As an actor holding the two timelines is really important. I can’t tell my mom where I’ve been because I’ve actually been hanging out with her in the past, but she doesn’t remember me as her friend Alice. She sees them as two separate people. As the season goes on, we get closer and closer to the disappearance of Jacob and Colton,” Sadie Laflamme-Snow, who plays Alice, told Celeb Secrets reporter Juliet Schroder exclusively in a virtual interview.

“Knowing things about the past makes it really hard to stay present in her regular life, so that puts a strain on her kind of day-to- day relationships. It’s super dramatic and action filled in a way that I think is a nice challenge for the network and for its viewers, so it’s been really great.”

Being that she’s new to the scene working on a that show is so complex with a lot to cover in each episode, Sadie says that being alongside acting vets like Chyler and Andie was such a “great opportunity” to learn the ropes on how to put on your best performance.

“It’s been such a great opportunity to learn and see how much they care about the story, how curious they are about their own characters and how much they’re going to fight for what they think their character would do and what’s authentic to how they see their story. It’s something that I really look up to in both of them,” Snow says. “I’m pretty new to this and they were so welcoming and open, but at the same time like took me really seriously as an actor, as a professional and as a young woman. It’s just great to see that people who are so established and are so beloved by so many fans can really hold that kind, generous energy while also challenging me as a scene partner. It’s just been great.”

ICYMI — without giving too much away — the identity of the White Witch was revealed in the season one finale, but things unraveled once again about Jacob’s disappearance before leaving fans with a huge cliffhanger. Fans have been posting a lot of theories as to who might have been the White Witch, and Sadie said she was right there with them reading on what could happen next during the big episode last month.

“It was funny because I feel like I’ve been following along with people’s theories online because I’m curious what it seems like as a viewer, but we also had the experience of having our own theories since we only got two episodes at a time. So seeing what people were expecting as they went along was really fun,” she shares. “There was not one person that I could see got everything right, but I feel like a lot of people had ideas of little things that we were alluding to along the way. And then to see it all come together, I think that, you know, for one thing to be true, another thing had to be untrue.”

With more episodes to continue the thrilling story very soon, Sadie says that while she has “no idea where it’s headed,” she wants to see what happens with the love story of Kat and Elliott as well as Alice and Del’s friendship.

“I don’t wanna give anything away, but I want to see what happens with the love story between Kat and Elliot because their love story kind of came together this season. But Alice never really saw it happen because Elliot realized it wasn’t the right moment in time for him. And while there was a big heartbreak this season, he remains like a best friend. I’m curious to see what happens,” she says.

“I really want to see Alice and Del’s friendship develop. [Andie] and I were having such a nice time near the end of the season because Alice stops rejecting her grandmother and starts to enjoy that relationship, so we were having fun there,” she continues

“And then there’s all like the mystery questions — who knows about the pond? There’s theories that Del knows about the pond and even that Colton knows about the pond,” she concludes. “There’s all kinds of questions that I want answers to because I’m in the same place as everyone else. I’m really looking forward to getting into that, and I know the writers are going to answer those questions. I’m really excited.”
